Hi, I’m Adnan, from Pakistan, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. I stay active alongside my academic work, especially playing badminton, and board games. I also love traveling to different cities across Hungary and relaxing during quiet evenings by the Danube, watching the city lights reflect on the water. Exploring new experiences and meeting people from diverse backgrounds is something I really value.

WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?

I was drawn to ELTE because of its rich history, strong international reputation, and impressive alumni network. The university’s commitment to academic excellence also stood out, making it an inspiring place to pursue my studies.

WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

One of my biggest challenges was transitioning from a medical background to a tech-focused field. I started with zero programming knowledge and found some math subjects particularly difficult. Adapting to this new way of thinking was tough, but with hard work and persistence, I managed to catch up and keep up with the program.

HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?

I dedicated extra time outside the classroom to learning programming and improving my math skills. I sought guidance from peers and took consultations with supportive professors. Maintaining disciplined study habits helped me overcome these challenges and achieve strong academic results.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

This degree is equipping me with strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid foundation in analytical thinking. Beyond the technical knowledge, it is helping me develop discipline, critical thinking, and collaboration skills, which are essential in any professional environment. I believe this degree will led to opportunities in the tech industry and provide a strong platform for future growth, whether in advanced studies or a dynamic career in software development and technology.

Be curious and open-minded. Join events, talk to people, and explore the resources, ELTE has a lot to offer. Some of the best lessons you’ll learn here happen outside the classroom. And don’t stress if everything feels new and hard at first, you’ll find your rhythm.
