Chinatown Budapest
The Chinese community in Budapest (represented by ELTE Konfuciusz Intézet and Chinatown Budapest) invites you to join in the celebration of Chinese New Year of the Horse.
Date: February 7th and 8th, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday), from 10:00 to 16:00 (everyday)
Location: Chinatown Budapest (Jegenye u. 30, Budapest, Hungary, 1107)
The nearest stations are Mázsa utca, Mázsa tér, Kőbánya alsó vasútállomás.
Chinatown is easily accessible via:
- Budapest public transport (3; 28; 62; 75; 95)
- by train (Kőbánya Alsó Vasútállomás)
- by bike (cycling lane along kőbányai út).
What to expect in the 2026 edition
- Three Chinese cultural delegations to visit Budapest, bringing many new entertainment and handicraft programs.
- Two professional chefs arriving from the city of Chengdu to cook authentic Sichuan street foods for the Festival guests, including Sichuan-style noodle, chicken, mochi, and sweet soup.
- Fire-spitting, ""kungfu""long spout teapot, and other new folk entertainments to be shown for the first time ever in Hungary.
- 26 new hanfu outfits for the guests to cosplay for free.

Free admission. But tea tasting and some DIY programs charge basic fees for the tea cup and materials. Please pay attention to the price banners on the site.
